White Charisma

February 05, 2013 32 Comments

It stood in its glory
and withering heights
Some feigned victory
and complained vertigo

It remain listless,
drab like a white ghost
Perchance the charisma it wears.
Perchance the era it conceals.

It contained footsteps of  masses
throbbing treads & pulsating breaths
all contained within this white serenity
Serendipity & silence
they observe
as they tread on the pathway of knowledge

It stood there pillar by pillar
the majestic library
breeding tendrils of knowledge
sowing seeds of information
the building stands still

People come, people go!

Lovely! Reminds me of those beautiful lines form "The Brook": For men may come and men may go, but life goes on forever.

  13. The building will continue to stand as footsteps enter and exit its hallways, and those who once came in as children will leave as learned adults. And the library will stand yet, embracing all those who enter its hallowed portals and give of its knowledge freely.

Beautifully penned (errr.... typed I mean!)
