Man in the Mirror

March 27, 2013 51 Comments

Outside my window, I see
Life is not what it used to be
darkness there and nothing more
darkness on prow, darkness on roll
Darkness is real, darkness surreal
darkness in every single moment, I know
Moments are ambiguous, moments are sane
moments makes our lives
Stable, Scurry and lame
Moments are darkly blissful
even sometime when they do not tame
and there are some moments, ladden
in white terse darkness.
You live through them- soaking the misery
moments infuse life even in darkest flurry.
Moments make you introspect
when looking outside is scary.
So when I looked inside
I couldn't find any
I closed my windows and turned to see
A look at my mirror
and it fail to cooperate
I couldn't find me, my mirror too turned its back!

  2. Okay. I'm personally biased towards poems which focus on anything to do with Black/Darkness, when they describe its beauty and not just the loneliness aspect, why don't you do one on that? Darkness is not all that bad you know. :)

    Good poem btw! :D

    ciao!

  14. The world outside is scary. Especially when the world inside is in turmoil.

    1. Yes...the turmoil sometimes shifts outside whereas sometimes the external scariness creates many turmoils inside.

  21. Even though this seems to focus on darkness as a void, I love darkness. Live darkness. At times, AM darkness. But it's all about self-examination, too, and for that, there is not enough light in the world to shed upon our souls, to truly see what we're made of.

First time here; found you at Real Toads. So glad I did! My first NaPoWriMo is not very good, but in general, I'm opinionated and feisty!! Peace, Amy
