The Grasshopper experiment!
Short, green, playful, wild,
Camouflage, hopping high, This
locust makes *Raj Speak
________
* Rajesh Koothrapalli or Raj is the one of the main characters from my all time favorite show- The Big Bang Theory. The Grasshopper experiment as featured in the first season of the show, was about making the shy Raj overcome his fear of speaking in front of female fraternity. Raj's parents wanted him to meet a girl and his friend Howard help him setting a date by talking to the girl as Raj on phone. Their neighbor Penny, a sporty, bubbly girl working as waitress in cheesecake factory comes to his rescue in her temporary stint as bartender where she learns mixing up drinks and prepares a concoction called Grasshopper that not just makes Raj overcome his inhibition to talk with females but also an overdose of it makes him act obnoxious in front of them.
Big Bang theory is my most favorite show on TV and am equally fond of each character but my most favorite is- Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Bazinga!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sridevi. Probably that's why you are quite creative. I am hooked to TV a lot of time, mostly using it to add noises in background
DeleteBazinga! Liked the haiku :) For some reason I've switched to HIMYM instead. I think its the timings!
ReplyDeleteOh! If you meant- How I met your mother? Than I tried watching it couple of times but couldn't like much. Wondering when will they telecast season 6 in India :)
DeleteAnother Sheldon Cooper fan reporting - I don't watch BBT as much as I would love to, but love the sitcom to pieces. Nice space you've got here. Sply digging the cover pic, which sports your 'painter's nose' in all it's glory! :-) Cheers, Laxmi.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much laxmi! Your comment brightened me up :)
DeleteAnd its great to know and find like minded (if for nothing else, at least tv) people. Bazinga!
I watched the Big Bang theory once and then realized that I know some of those characters in real life (having been in science academia). They aren't half as funny either! :P
ReplyDeletelolz...who ain't funny? the characters or the real life science academia? I guess both :)
DeleteCute little poem. And ahh the cricket episode. Though I find it amusing that in first season there is one episode where Raj talks when Penny is in the doorway and can hear him, without alcohol. It's the episode where Howard ditches game night to get with the girl from Nebraska staying at Penny's place. Yeah, I may have seen the episodes a few too many times. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYup. I believe that girl is penny's cousin' fiancee who slept with her brother. lolz..
